It’s a DA for the inaugural Daniel Andrew’s day, a day off in Victoria just because we elected him!
I, however, will be working.
Nonetheless, here’s where you can report about the DA, the DA day, or about whatever else comes to mind.
Here’s the DA for the 2nd of October, 2015.
Spoilers: word list for today’s DA … not that you need one!

Can anyone help me with the wordplays for 14A from yesterday and 15D from today please?
Ray, if your paper (SMH) is the same as the Age: 14A “Finished one’s drink” is as follows:
Finished = PAST. One’s = 1 s = IS to give the French aniseed-flavoured drink PASTIS.
There is no 15D in today’s Age, so I guess you have a different crossword there.
Mort thanks. I had 14A wrong – so appreciate it.
15D is – “Grim barbarian with no leader drinking whisky (9)”
I have U_S_I_I_G.
Think is UNSMILING but cannot get the “drinking whisky” bit if the first bit is UN.
Thanks again.
Ray, it’s probably UNSHINING. Shining is a slang American term for whisky, derived from moonshining.
Mort – Sweet – thanks.
