DA for the 16/17th of March, 2012

This week I’ll be attempting to finish off the DA in the middle of a buck’s weekend interspersed with celebrations for my mother’s 70th birthday.

It’s a big ask, but a fun one.

Report on your DA experiences here.

Update: A tough one I thought:

  1. Middle of a flu and overwork…I expect related.

Anyway, thought it a mostly pleasant outing. Really liked 26A, 17D and 21D this week.

  2. AS, With the luck of the Irish, my 87 year old dad, Pat, visited on St Patrick’s Day and I didn’t get out to buy the Sat SMH. Which is just a long-winded way of asking…..
could you, or someone, please post the solution? … before the crossie gets totally tattered as I attempt to finish it .. about 2/3 done. Found this week’s a lot of blarney . and a bit of craik.

  3. Thankyou. Well I was a meathead. And not just cos my Dad was an Irish butcher.

  4. I learned yesterday (while researching a clue over at DA’s place) that craic is a gaelicisation of the English word crack, and many Gaelic purists disapprove of the term.
